My Best Friend
I once sat and wondered whom could I call my best friend Who has been there beside me from the beginning to the end Then it came to my mind with whom together I have grown Who has never left my side and brings light to my soul Who do I speak of day by day, if to no one else then to myself For often I was alone and he was there to be my help I don't call him at final measures but for encouragement from the start For each time I call upon him, he brings joy to my heart He has been with me through hard trials and through the perilous of my times Each test we both grow stronger as we pull towards the finish line He has proven to be my best friend and to my face he brings a smile For he refuses to ever leave but travel with me mile by mile So no matter my journey's rough road, together we will ride For as long as Jesus is my Lord, my TESTIMONY is by my side

Reality
Many get so discouraged as they face life's daily trials They take their upsets as defeats instead of drive for the next mile They take snapshots of each situation and cry, "The world's against me!!!" But in their photo album they have no picture of reality You have spent all night studying but yet you still fail the test You watch another receive the award although you know you were the best You've done the best that you could of all your ability But yet the greatest of your attempts could not out do reality You had in your mind that you would run and exercise to lose weight You had this plan written down and for others it worked great But you got tired of jogging and the diet you took no heed Not only did you face yourself in a mirror but you faced reality How come your dreams will not come true no matter how hard you try Your road of life won't give you a chance no matter which way you drive Are Your Eyes on the Calendar of God?
The Y2K fear has gone away The lights are on, bank accounts no change But the praises of God have dwindled away Who takes the time to kneel and pray But all seem so hype for the upcoming year 2001 will soon be here The teams in sports are so loudly cheered Why isn’t the Lord so worshipped and feared As they gaze upon the new president’s term While the taxed gather records of wages they earned What is the weight of these timely concerns Compared to the promise of our Savior’s return Forget not the warnings the Word of God gives Of the ungodly lives each nation shall live Take heed to the signs our Lord Jesus gave Acknowledge in your heart these are the last days For when the chosen are raptured then they’ll mark the date Not having in mind for them its too late

Y2K - Yield to the King
The time has come when the proud are trembling and their knees are buckling in fear It is not because of the judgment of the Lord but the new millennium year They are frightened on the coming of the year 2000 of which they cannot control But yet they care nothing of their salvation nor the destiny of their souls Was it the clock that created the heavens and the earth or put a difference between night and day Was it time that stretched open his arms and died or to whom we kneel and pray Does it matter the minute one gives their life to Christ as long as it is before He returns Is it the date that controls the Lake of Fire in which all lost souls will burn Which Y2K are you kneeling to giving heed in awe of his power Is it to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or the strike of the soon coming hour The choice is open and the decision is free as long as our hearts are pounding Is your Y2K to yield to the King or worry about the year 2000

Not Just a Baby
Many look at the birth of our Savior just as a babe in swaddling clothes They forget His death and burial and on the third Day He arose His life was full of compassion and He welcomed all with open arms But yet the jealous and wicked-hearted only wished to do Him harm Look at Him not just as an infant but King of Kings and Lord of Lords For whether it is for grace or judgment it is Him we shall bow before It was not just the birth of a baby but that of our Lord Jesus Christ Of whom the value of His precious blood when it was shed paid the price A price which the value of all the gold upon the earth could not afford But with priceless love He paid it all which is why I kneel and call Him Lord

The Birth of a King
He entered into this world as humble as He could He could have come in glitter but in a manger did He choose He was born as a child but grew to be the lamb Slaughtered for the wicked and sinful nature of man He could have been high-minded knowing the end from the start But as a perfect example He was humble in the heart The angels worshipped in heaven and the wicked feared on earth That the prophesy was fulfilled that of our Savior’s birth The wise men sought after Him bringing precious gifts The wise still seek after Him for the gift of His spirit At this time we give Him honor of being born King of kings Giving glory to our Lord’s birth and His high praises do we sing

The Treasure of God
To hearken to the Word of God is like a map to a treasure Of which all the gold upon the Earth is truly of no measure All the joy that you’ll find full of peace and love within When you are filled with that power to live a life free of sin As the spirit leads you walk through trials and temptations With every pain you’ll feel His love through faith and expectation Knowing that the Lord cannot lie you hold Him to His word Every line you’ve read and studied, every verse spoken and heard As you travel that narrow path you pray with every stride For many have gone before you and have fallen by the wayside They have felt the pleasure of this world which lasts only for a season Forgetting Christ’s painful death and that our souls were His reason They forgot the prize of His high calling and the value that it holds What good does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul Seeing the outcome of their brief glory you travel stronger even more Giving honor to the Father and praising the name of the Lord As you get closer to the prize your eyes begin to glisten Your ears are open to every sound as you patiently listen For that calling of the Father which in His Word He has rehearsed Well done, my loving child, my good and faithful servant

GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH
Through all trials and tribulations Against a small army or great nation With your faith and expectation God will see you through Through all misery and strife If all alone, no husband or wife As long as He is Lord of your life God will see you through Through all sickness and despair With all the disease and grief we bear To His power they cannot compare God will see you through He’ll overtake sorrow like as a flood Cleanse us from sin with His precious blood He’ll ease the hurt, heartache, and pain For it is He alone that truly reigns There is nothing our God cannot do God will see you through

And the Two Became One (For Brian and Randy Queen Lee)
Once upon a time in the land where we all dwell There lived two young people whom we all know so well They met in the house of worship praising the name of the Lord At first sight who would have guessed what the future had in store When your eyes fastened upon Randy it was easy to be seen That her name fit her well for she was truly a queen A true friend there was in Brian who had time and open ears He was there with open arms to sit and talk as you shed tears When they met one another Brian's eyes were full of glee Randy expressed enlightenment as if her spirit was set free The time they spent together left a sparkle in the air That special kind of glitter one cannot find just anywhere They have finally come together in this puzzle of life Those two hard to find pieces called the husband and the wife

True Solution
This world is full of wickedness each day it gets worst Instead of striving for a blessing this world is being cursed Babies are having babies killers are killing killers Mothers are no longer in love with the father of their children Marriages are destroyed workers are unemployed Young women are on the streets for their bodies to be sold Crime is on the rise, drugs are enterprised Judges no longer heed to the counsel of the wise Guns are in control , crooked cops are on patrol Streets are no longer safe as in the days of the old But in these last and evil days I have found a solution You don't have to grab a picket sign nor amend the Constitution Just hear the Word of God which is our Lord and Savior Jesus Its not so hard to do so you don't have to be a genius Repent of your sins and get baptized in His Name He'll fill you with His Spirit and your face will show no shame He'll fill you full of happiness, He'll fill you full of joy More than you were a kid and you received your favorite toy This joy is everlasting, it will never end In the Name of Jesus Christ you will always have a friend

It Is Not In Vain
As you preach unto your love ones and it seems they cannot hear But at the first sound of gossip, they urge it on with a cheer You open the Word for them to read and they act as if they are blind But when they see the home team score they act as if they’ve lost their mind You teach the blessing of faith in Christ but they do not want to learn They keep putting off salvation for they view it as a low concern But you pray through your frustrations and you ask the Lord why Will they not hear of your love and on the Cross for them You died For Hell is a true place and all the unsaved there are sent Once you open your eyes down there it will be too late for you to repent Heaven is true also and the Lord wants all to come With His love He sent a sacrifice in the person of His Son All He wants is a broken heart which will lead to true submission He will supply your every need and your desires shall be given You know that thus is true for you have walked this way of life He has brought you through your misery, your heartache, and your strife Continue to be a witness and live holy through your pain For once you look upon His glory you will know that your living was not in vain There's a little old Christian lady living next door to an atheist. Every morning the lady comes out onto her front porch and shouts, "Praise the Lord!". The atheist yells back, "There is no God". She does this every morning with the same result. As time goes on the lady runs into financial difficulties and has trouble buying food. She goes out onto the porch and asks God for help with groceries, then says, "Praise the Lord". The next morning she goes out onto the porch and there're the groceries she's asked for, of course she says, "Praise the Lord". The atheist jumps out from behind a bush and says, "Ha, I bought those groceries - there is no God". The lady looks at him and smiles, she shouts, "Praise the Lord, not only did you provide for me Lord, you made Satan pay for the groceries!!" Doesn't that brighten up your day!

Funny
A new minister had just moved into his beautiful ancient ministry, and found that he now had a lot of land, fields and woodland. He decided to buy a magnificent mare so that he could ride around his new parish to see all his parishioners. When the animal arrived, he was told, "This horse has only just been broken in so you will have to teach it the commands that you want it to obey." This was a bit of a challenge to the minister, so he thought, "I know I will teach it some church words." First, instead of the command to gallop, he taught it the words, "Praise the Lord" and as soon as the horse heard this command it raced forward. The next command was to make it stop, so instead of Whoa, he taught it Amen, and the horse would skid to a halt. Everything went fine for a few years, and then the time came for the minister to move to a new parish. He advertised his beloved animal for sale, and a local yokel bought it, but before the minister would part with the animal he decided to tell the new owner about the language that the horse had been taught. "Now young man, don't forget, when you want the horse to go at a gallop you say Praise the Lord, and when you want it to stop, you say Amen." Later the man decided to try the horse. "Praise the Lord," he said, and off they went at full gallop. The man suddenly remembered there is a cliff ahead with a five hundred foot drop to the sea. "Whoa, Whoa," he shouted, but the horse raced on towards the long drop. "Whoa, Whoa," he shouted but to no avail. Just before they reached the cliff, he remembered to say "Amen." The horse skidded to a halt inches away from the drop. The rider looked over the edge sighed and muttered, "Praise the Lord."
